Bradley Beal might be linked with a move away from the Washington Wizards either this year or the next one, but the player isn’t thinking about leaving Washington shortly. The talented shooting guard, who comes from the best season of his career, drew a lot of attention from several teams this campaign, including the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Yet, the player doesn’t seem to be fazed by these rumors, stating he wants to remain with his current team as long as possible. He recently joined the On the Road with Buck & Phil podcast to discuss a variety of topics, including his future with the Wizards, making it clear that he had no intention of leaving. In fact, he claimed he knows the Wizards can attract other players to go there and try to win with him and John Wall.
Talking if he’d like to spend the rest of his career in Washington, Beal said:
“That would mean the world, man. I’m a loyal guy. I want to be here. I’m here. I’ve signed my extension. And that will mean the world to me. That honestly would you know, being able to finish your career in one place? You know, you don’t see that in today’s game,” Beal said, via HoopsHype.
“So that would definitely be an honor, you know, but my ultimate goal is to win. I want to win and we got to win. And I know we can win. I know it’s a place where we can win and I know it’s a place where we can get guys to come here to win. But we got to go prove it on the floor for sure.”
This guy has been very loyal to his team and he’s not planning to leave anytime soon. Last year he was the reason why the Wizards had a chance to compete and were invited to the bubble, recording 30.5 points, 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Beal made a lot of noise recently after he bought a house in Los Angeles, setting the alarms for the Los Angeles Lakers fans. Even Shannon Sharpe and Snoop Dogg tried to recruit him to the Lakers, with Beal’s wife reacting to those comments. Yet, there is no indication that Bradley would leave his current team to try his luck somewhere else; at least not for this season.
If the Wizards don’t compete for big things the next campaign, the front office will probably try to start a rebuilding process, shipping Beal and Wall to another team.
