The Miami Heat got off to a scorching hot start in the first quarter, taking a 13-point lead early on. But it wasn’t long before the Lakers came roaring back and, once they got ahead, they really never looked back.
Dominant showings by LeBron and Anthony Davis secured the victory for L.A. in what ended as a 116-98 blowout in Game 1.
Almost just as entertaining as the action itself was the widespread reaction by the spectators online, who had more than a few things to say about the impressive showing from the Lakers.
Here is some of the best material we recovered from the night:
This isn’t the Lakers vs. Heat. This is LeBron vs. AD in a battle for the Finals MVP.

“Portland will be a problem”
“Lakers won’t be able to deal with Rockets 3 point shooting”
“Nuggets got the size and the shooting to beat them in a series”
“The depth of the Heat plus Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo will be a problem for the Lakers”
Yet “easiest playoff run for LA”

Needless to say, the mood in Lakerland right now is pretty good, but nobody is ready to call it just yet.
The Heat have proven they can hang with the best of them, and we should expect them to come out with some major adjustments in Game 2. Even with the injury to Goran Dragic, they will be ready to fight.
For now, though, this is the Lakers’ time and they seem about as unstoppable now as we’ve ever seen them before.
