Things may be on the upswing now, but nobody has forgotten Gobert’s careless and (frankly) senseless actions.
Before the NBA’s suspension, during the early stages of the outbreak here in America, Gobert was among many who failed to take coronavirus seriously. The NBA’s preventative actions were mocked by Gobert, and he made it a point to touch the equipment, supplies, and his teammates just leading up to his positive diagnosis.
Needless to say, things quickly progressed from there and after the season was suspended, many more players were confirmed to have the virus, including Gobert’s teammate, Donovan Mitchell.
The Utah big has since apologized for his actions, but he still gets a lot of heat it — even today.
In fact, one video that surfaced online recently features Gobert talking back to one of these critics with some rather colorful language.

Rudy Gobert has obviously had enough of everyone blaming him.
And while he public anger surrounding his actions is more than understandable, the NBA’s shutdown likely would have happened regardless. At the time, the virus had not yet reached its peak and in a few weeks, it would have been mandatory to shut down play.
The good news is, the worst seems to be over. As the worldwide case number drops, countries around the world are already beginning the process of returning to normalcy. The NBA, it seems, could resume action as early as next month.
Maybe by then, the situation with Gobert will be a little easier.
