On Sirius XM NBA Radio, longtime Warriors veteran Draymond Green opened up one of the more underrated aspects of Stephen Curry’s career so far. At 35 years old and counting, Curry has achieved longevity that is only rivaled by stars like LeBron James and Chris Paul. Part of the secret, according to Green, involves his relentless passion.

“He’s one of the most special people you can be around and when you look at Steph, he smiles, he’s the golden child, he’s all of these things but underneath all of that there’s like a never-dying passion that’s just burning, raging,” said Draymond. “He works as hard as I’ve ever seen anyone whether that’s in the weight room, the basketball court… He’s trying to defeat age! Every day I come in and watch him and it’s like this dude continues to work hard. This dude’s trying to defeat age. We all know Father Time is undefeated but we’re beating those odds right now.”

Ever since Curry won his first MVP in 2015, the Warriors have been at the top of the basketball food chain, and that dominance continues today. Over the span of 8 years, Steph has solidified himself as one of the NBA’s all-time greats and he’s on no track to slow down after putting up 29.4 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.1 rebounds on 49.3% shooting last season.

Steph Could Be A Superstar For A Long Time

LeBron James continues to make history by maintaining an All-Star-level performance over two decades of action. Heading into his 21st season, James is expected to once again hold his place as one of the 10 best players in basketball despite going on 39 years old. While Curry is not quite that old, it’s actually amazing that he hasn’t lost a step after 14 years in the league.

As far as what we can expect from him going forward, that much remains to be seen — but if last season is any indicator, Curry may still have plenty left in the tank. As the greatest shooter of all time, his shot-making isn’t going anywhere, and neither is the competitive grit that keeps him at his best all year round.

Golden State Warriors Aren’t Done Yet

After so many years together, one might think that this group has reached the limits of what they can accomplish. This summer, however, the Warriors doubled down on their core by swapping out their last remaining young star (Jordan Poole) for a backup point guard to play behind Curry. With Steph, Klay, Paul, Wiggins, and Draymond, Golden State has everything they need to bring home another title, and there is confidence around the league that they can turn some heads with their play.

In the West, several teams went out of their way to improve their roster, including the Suns, Lakers, and the Clippers if they secure James Harden. Keeping up with all these new teams won’t be an easy task for Golden State, but Curry alone keeps their title hopes alive. If he can stay healthy for the 2023-24 season, nobody should be surprised if the Warriors are the last team standing when it’s all said and done.
