Seth Curry is a free agent this offseason, and while it is believed that the Brooklyn Nets will try to re-sign him, the player is already working on other options for his future.
Curry could be a great pickup for the Charlotte Hornets, and he believes that would be good too. The sharpshooter would love to wear the same jersey his father wore and represent the same team Dell Curry defended for many years.
“Growing up a Hornets fan, watching my dad play, you always think about one of us wearing that No. 30 Hornets jersey in the modern era,” Curry told Sam Albuquerque of Greenville News. “But like I always say, you never know in this league.”
“I’ve always loved the Hornets,” he added. “If I wasn’t in the league that would be my favorite team. … so we’ll see what happens.”
This would be great to watch, as the Currys have close ties with the Hornets since Dell donned that jersey. The 32 years old has played for different teams around the league, including the Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Nets.
Going to the Hornets would be good for him, as that team needs some veteran leadership after another disappointing season. They have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, meaning they can start building something good this year.
Seth brings a lot to the table as a terrific shooter. He has plenty of experience in the league and can be a vocal leader for the Hornets. This team isn’t going anywhere right now, but with the right decisions, they can lay the groundwork for a bright future.
Curry could be part of this, but as he said, you never know in this league.
Dell Curry Wants To See Stephen And Seth Curry Playing Together On Warriors
Meanwhile, his father also has a personal dream regarding Seth and his brother Stephen. Dell Curry recently revealed he would like to see his two kids playing together in Golden State.
That would be awesome to watch, as we have had several brothers playing together in the league in recent years. Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Justin and Aaron Holiday, and Markieff and Marcus Morris are three of the most famous examples.
Seth and Steph joining forces in Golden State would be great to watch, but it remains to be seen if the Warriors entertain this idea. The younger brother has made it clear he likes to distance himself from Steph, but that could change this offseason.
Curry averaged 9.2 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds during the regular season with the Nets, shooting 40.5% of his threes. This marked the seventh consecutive season he shot for at least 40% from deep.
