Jayson Tatum is solidifying himself as arguably the brightest young star in the NBA. Even though he has competition from the likes of Luka Doncic, no young player can claim to have the resume Tatum has already built since being drafted in 2017.

Paul Pierce openly admitted on Tatum being better than him a few days ago on Twitter, something he doubled down on before Game 5 of the Conference Finals, claiming Tatum is on pace to retire as one of the greatest players ever.

“He’s a generational star. When you look at what he’s done in his career at such a young age. Highest All-Star score ever, Game 7 highest score ever, he’s setting NBA records and he’s been in the Conference finals since his first or second year. He’s on pace to be one of the greatest players to ever play this game already. I have no ego in this, game recognize game. He’s doing a lot of things I did but at 6’10”, and I honor that, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Tatum has an incredibly stacked resume for someone his age. He is currently in his fourth Conference Finals battle and could actually go forth to the NBA Finals by leading a historic 3-0 playoff comeback over the Heat. They have brought it back to 3-2 and need to keep fighting for the last two wins.

JT is averaging 27.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this playoff run.

Celtics Pushing For History

The Celtics fell down 3-0 to the Miami Heat in the Conference Finals but have fought back to make the series 3-2 after a strong Game 5 win. If Tatum is the star on a team that overcame a 3-0 series deficit, it’s arguably one of the greatest accomplishments we have seen in basketball. It’ll make them the first team to ever pull this off.

In addition, if they go on to also beat the Nuggets, the Celtics will re-take the lead as the most successful NBA franchise with 18 championships ahead of the Lakers’ 17. Jayson Tatum could be at the center of all these accomplishments, provided he can continue leading his team admirably from the front.
