The Phoenix Suns lost to the Denver Nuggets in the second round this season, and there is no doubt that some changes could be on the horizon. After all, the Suns need to build a competitive team around Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
There has been some chatter about the Phoenix Suns potentially trying to replace point guard Chris Paul, and one report even suggested that the team will be aggressive in trying to trade him. Some recent news from John Gambadoro of AZSports revealed that one potential target for the Suns if they move on from Chris Paul, is Celtics point guard Malcolm Brogdon.
“The Suns would be interested in Brogdon as a potential replacement from Chris Paul if they decide to move on from Chris Paul,” Gambadoro said.
“Put Brogdon on your list, a potential point guard to replace Chris Paul.”

Even though Malcolm Brogdon is solid in his sixth-man role with the Boston Celtics, he could definitely be a starting quality point guard. He is an elite 3PT shooter and is capable of being a floor general, so it is easy to see why the Suns are targeting him.
Malcolm Brogdon has averaged 14.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 3.7 APG for the Boston Celtics this season. He most recently won the Sixth Man of the Year award, and hopefully, he can help the Boston Celtics come back against the Miami Heat.
Malcolm Brogdon Wanted To Be Part Of The Celtics’ Culture
Malcolm Brogdon has frequently spoken positively about the Boston Celtics, and there’s no doubt that he appreciates the environment. He previously praised the Celtics’ culture, noting that people want to be a part of it.
“I feel like the word culture is used too much, it’s overused. There are very few teams who actually have culture,” said Brogdon. “This is one of the few organizations, from the top down, that has a good culture. No matter who you ask, people want to be a part of that. If you have the opportunity to go to Boston… go to Boston.”
Though he loves the Boston Celtics, perhaps Malcolm Brogdon would thrive on the Phoenix Suns as well. He has the skillset to succeed anywhere, but it is clear that he truly loves playing for the Boston Celtics.
