Anthony Davis and LeBron James have already achieved a lot for the Los Angeles Lakers, they won a championship in 2020. But there are always expectations when the franchise involved is one of the greatest in NBA history.

The Lakers struggled for a season and a half, but have overhauled their fortunes entirely since the trade deadline. The team is now in the Western Conference Finals, and Anthony Davis for one, has only one goal in mind.

“Our guys, they’re hungry, they want it,” Anthony Davis said, as per Bleacher Report. “Just like me and Bron want another one. Now it’s time to go get it. Unfinished business. Now, we gotta go into Denver with that mindset.”

This is exactly what Los Angeles Lakers fans will want to hear. The team needs to be locked in if they’re going to get through to the NBA Finals. Anthony Davis and LeBron James know what it takes and their leadership will play an important role in ensuring that they get it.

Beating the Golden State Warriors has filled the fanbase with excitement, and it’s easy to imagine that the team feels the same. Momentum is crucial at this point in the postseason and the Lakers are flying high. The coming challenge is not going to be an easy one.

The Denver Nuggets Will Be The Lakers’ Toughest Opponent

Playing the defending champions was not an easy task, but the Lakers likely have a bigger challenge ahead of them. Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets have looked very much like the No. 1 seed and have been dominant in the playoffs, getting through the Minnesota Timberwolves with relative ease before also dispatching the Phoenix Suns.

Nikola Jokic is playing like the MVP even though he missed out on it this season. And Anthony Davis will have his hands full trying to handle him inside. The Serbian is an offense to himself, and as Kevin Durant put it, is on his way to going down as one of the greatest to ever touch a basketball

LeBron James hasn’t taken over a series yet in the playoffs, although he did have a massive Game 6. This coming challenge will have to be one that he completely embraces. If the dominant version of King James shows up, then the Lakers might just be heading to the NBA Finals for the second time in four seasons.
