LeBron James is currently 38 years old, but he is still one of the most popular players in the NBA.

Evidently, any James-led team getting deeper into the playoffs generates a lot of revenue for the league. Keeping that in mind, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas believes that the Lakers vs. Warriors second-round series is already over because the NBA wants James to get some rest.

“I know this play already,” Arenas said. “We’re gonna get these games over with, and then LeBron can just rest for a while. Have like seven or eight days off. The league is gonna get this over with, so that means that Monday or Wednesday, the series is over with. Monday, Wednesday, season. Then LeBron don’t gotta play again until next Wednesday, Thursday, [or] maybe Friday. Then we got like eight or nine days off.”

The Los Angeles Lakers currently hold a comfortable 3-1 lead over the Golden State Warriors. The Purple and Gold can wrap things up in Game 5 at the Chase Center.

While what Arenas said could be beneficial for the NBA in the longer run, having a Game 7 showdown between LeBron James and Stephen Curry would be excellent for ratings as well.

If the Lakers do end up closing out the series in the next couple of games, we hope it will be due to their play, not some narrative.

LeBron James Has Never Lost A Playoff Series After Going Up 3-1

LeBron James has been dominating the NBA for 20 years now. James always has a tendency to take things up a notch in the postseason.

Sure, he hasn’t really activated playoff mode yet, but that’s only because LBJ is saving gas for the rest of the playoffs, per Darvin Ham.

As for the current series vs. the Warriors, the defending champions should be worried. Because in his 20-year-long career, LeBron James has never blown a 3-1 lead in the playoffs.

Keeping that in mind, fans may finally see an aggressive version of LeBron in Game 5 of the series. Can Curry somehow help the Warriors in not getting knocked from the playoffs? We will find out in a matter of hours.
