LeBron James Is 17-0 In Playoff Series After Taking A 3-1 Lead

The Golden State Warriors have a challenging task on their hands, as LeBron James is a perfect 17-0 in the playoffs after going up 3-1 in a series.

It isn’t often that teams are able to make comebacks when they fall behind in a playoff series to LeBron James’ squads, and when the deficit is 3-1, they never do.

That is the task at hand, though, for the Golden State Warriors, and history would suggest they don’t have a chance. In his astounding playoff career, LeBron’s teams have taken a 3-1 lead 17 times, and they have won the series on all 17 occasions.

Making a comeback from down 3-1 is difficult against anybody, but against LeBron, it seems impossible. Even though we haven’t seen James at the absolute peak of his powers this postseason, the chances of beating him three times in a row, especially when the team around him is good, is next to none.

It also appears that James, who is averaging 22.6 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 5.2 APG, and 1.3 BPG in these playoffs, might be conserving energy at this point. Head coach Darvin Ham implied LeBron has more gas in the tank that he is saving for the later rounds. If things do get a little uncomfortable in this series, LeBron might just take over and end it for good, as he has done so many times. His playoff resume is absolutely incredible, and he looks set to add another epic postseason run to it.

The Warriors Remain Confident They Can Overturn This Deficit

The Warriors, of course, won’t wave the white flag just yet and seek inspiration from their 3-1 comeback against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016. Stephen Curry said there is confidence within the group that they can figure it out and added there is a long way to go.

Their locker room was also angry, not dejected, after losing Game 4, so they aren’t just going to roll over and let the Lakers advance. Still, it is hard to be too optimistic about their chances at this point, and Charles Barkley believes they are done. Sure, they can win Game 5 at home, but getting the win on the road in Game 6 will be a tall task. You get a feeling that once this series is done, the Warriors will look back and wonder how differently it could have panned out if they had held on to win on Monday.
