The Golden State Warriors hosted the Sacramento Kings at home in Game 3, looking to avoid a 3-0 deficit. They did so comfortably, beating the Kings 97-114 to earn their first win of the 2023 Playoffs.
The Warriors controlled the game from the opening tip and managed to keep a double-digit lead for most of the game, even when the Kings were making runs. Fans reacted to them pulling this win off, especially with Draymond Green suspended.

The whistle for Sacramento was noticeably different from previous games, leading fans to react to the lack of free throws Domantas Sabonis was getting.

Kevon Looney’s incredible effort on the glass tonight kept the Warriors’ alive.
Kevon Looney probably wont get a statue with the core three guys but he should at least get one in the background rebounding.

Some fans compared Looney to Hakeem Olajuwon as a joke for his incredible Game 3 performance.

Stephen Curry’s offensive excellence ensured that Golden State could put the game away, especially at the end of the quarters.

The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry‘s 36 points but had solid production around him with Andrew Wiggins scoring 20 and Jordan Poole adding another 16. Kevon Looney was arguably the best player on the court, grabbing 20 rebounds and dropping 9 assists. The Kings’ team offense couldn’t match up to Golden State, as De’Aaron Fox was the only player to score 20 points or more with his 26-point outing.
Can The Warriors Win This Series Still?
There are more instances of a team trailing by 2-0 to go on and lose the series than win it, but it’s not a statistical improbability. We saw the Dallas Mavericks come back from 2-0 to beat a 66-win Phoenix Suns team, so the Warriors could definitely do the same to the less-fancied Kings.
The team looked very strong offensively tonight and managed to hold the Kings to under 100 points, even with defensive anchor Draymond being suspended for the game. With him returning in front of an electric Chase Center crowd, Game 4 is going to be one of the most important games of the series.
The Warriors know how to blow a 3-1 lead but also how to win one, so they can’t even be counted out after Game 4. Regardless, they’ll push to win on their home court, where they have been one of the best teams the entire season.
