The Los Angeles Lakers recently faced the Los Angeles Clippers, with the game finishing with a final score of 118-125. This was definitely a tough loss for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are trying to avoid the play-in tournament by any means necessary. This loss puts them as the 7th seed, and one game in the loss column behind the Clippers and the Golden State Warriors.

After the game, a lot of fans reacted to the Lakers’ loss. A number of fans took the opportunity to blast the Los Angeles Lakers, with a good amount of accounts roasts to troll the team.

Some fans believed that the Lakers lost this game on purpose:

Others posted general memes related to the game.

There is no doubt that this was a game that was winnable for the Lakers, and they may very well regret not winning this contest. However, the Lakers still have an opportunity to make the playoffs outright or through the play-in tournament still, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

LeBron James Says The Lakers’ Goal Is To Win A Championship This Season

Forward LeBron James previously revealed that the team’s goal is to win the championship this season, claiming that the team has made a lot of progress over the course of the last month. This loss definitely doesn’t help them in that pursuit whatsoever.

“We just want to put ourselves in a position to be able to compete for a championship,” LeBron said. “It’s a journey and obviously, we don’t have as much chemistry as a lot of other teams that are trying to compete for a championship or have aspirations to win a championship, but I like what we’ve been building over the last month or so.”

It is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers have the talent to potentially get far in the postseason this year. We’ll see how well they do going forward, and there’s still a chance they will have to play in the play-in tournament. However, the team has clearly been more confident since the trade deadline, and they could definitely end up surprising a lot of people with how far they get in the postseason this year.
