Over his 20-year career, LeBron James has always made it a point to support his teammates and fellow NBA players. Unsurprisingly, J.R. Smith is no exception.

In partnership with ‘Uninterrupted,’ the Cavs legend has released a brand new docuseries detailing J.R.’s life and journey in the NBA. As his former Cavaliers teammate, James made sure to show his support in a viral post on Twitter.

J.R. was never anything more than a role player during his time in the NBA, but he made an impact as a long-range sniper for many teams, including the 2016 Cavaliers, who mounted the biggest comeback of all time in the NBA Finals.

Of course, Smith is also remembered for his infamous blunder in 2018 against the Warriors that may have cost his team a win.

J.R. Smith Explains His Historic Finals Moment

To this day, J.R.’s costly decision to pass instead of taking a last-second shot is remembered as a defining moment for his career, but it may not be all his fault.

โ€œI already knew we had a timeout,” Smith said. “I get the rebound and I think itโ€™s five other times in the season we were put in the same situation. First thing we do, we get the rebound, we call a timeout, get the ball to LeBron, space out, heโ€™s gonna make it work. I did think we were up by one. In this situation, we got the rebound, we called a time out and we got a chance to win. What better chance we got? But long story short, donโ€™t go that way.โ€

The Cavaliers would lose that game and the series — but J.R.s career would never be the same after that. He only played a few more seasons, and his minutes quietly went lower and lower.

Today, J.R. is having the time of his life as a former player, and now he’s got an entire docuseries to set the record straight about his career.

Because despite all the things he’s known for today, J.R. has a lot to be proud of for his time in the league, and you have to give him credit for never being scared of the moment, even if it sometimes got the best of him.
