Luguentz Dort’s impressive defense has been crucial for the Oklahoma City Thunder and has garnered quite the buzz, but Kawhi Leonard was having none of it.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the team’s 127-105 win over the Thunder, Leonard shut down all the talk around Dort’s defense that’s earned the moniker, ‘Dorture Chamber’.

“I didn’t hear it. I don’t read it… It’s just people talking who don’t play the game.” the Clippers star said.

The comment comes on the back of Dort locking up the forward in their first of the two-game stretch.

The Thunder won the first game 101-100 and Dort was the hero as he clung on to Leonard who failed to launch a shot after the former’s defensive effort cramped him for the room. The clock ran out and OKC sneaked away with a win.

The second game saw the Clippers get even as Leonard and Russell Westbrook contributed with 32 and 24 points respectively.

Kawhi Leonard And The LA Clippers Inch Closer To Booking A Playoff Berth

The win against OKC puts the Clippers in fifth place in the West with a 39-35 record. The side broke the shackles after their recent slump threatened to derail their campaign.

The Clippers will be without the services of Paul George, who is set to miss another three weeks after going down with a knee injury early this month. With the guard sidelined, all eyes will be on Leonard and Westbrook to make the bulk of the scoring as they look to finish as one of the top four seeds.

They play the New Orleans Pelicans next, followed by clashes against the Chicago Bulls and the Memphis Grizzlies. A couple of wins in their next three contests puts LA in a better position, especially in a stacked Western Conference.

The Clippers are one of the teams pegged to win the title and given Leonard’s form, and George’s return, chances of the side making a deeper run in the playoffs cannot be discounted.
