Point guard Kyrie Irving is clearly an All-NBA talent when he is on the court, and he showed as much for the Dallas Mavericks. There is no doubt that he is extremely gifted, and that is why the Mavericks traded for him ahead of the 2023 trade deadline.
This summer, Kyrie Irving is a free agent, and he will have the option of potentially leaving the Dallas Mavericks. However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, that is unlikely to happen, as he is expected to return to the Mavericks. Wojnarowski also revealed that the key negotiating points between the two parties will be the amount of fully guaranteed years the Mavericks are willing to give him.
“The market for Kyrie Irving, legitimate places that he would leave Dallas for, that would make sense, that are available to him, its extremely limited… almost nil. The full expectation is he returns to Dallas. The question will be, what kind of a deal does he go back on… I don’t think the money will be an issue, as how many fully guaranteed years there are for Kyrie Irving… that is going to be the negotiation between him and the Dallas Mavericks.”
The “full expectation” is Kyrie Irving will re-sign with the Mavericks once free agency begins, per @wojespn:

It seems likely that the Dallas Mavericks and Kyrie Irving will be able to come to an agreement. Retaining Kyrie Irving is the easiest pathway for them to compete during the Luka Doncic era, and it is likely that they will do whatever is necessary to make a deal happen.
During the 2022-23 regular season, Kyrie Irving put up 27.1 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 5.3 APG while shooting 49.4% from the field and 37.9% from the 3PT range. Hopefully, we see the Dallas Mavericks be able to keep him, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
The Mavericks Are Willing To Give Kyrie Irving A Four-Year Max
It makes sense for the Dallas Mavericks to try to get Kyrie Irving to commit to a long-term deal. In fact, a previous report revealed that they are willing to offer him a four-year max contract worth around $210 million.
“Irving is eligible for a four-year maximum contract with Dallas valued at an estimated $210 million. There has been no suggestion to date that a five-year max worth $272 million is in play for Irving, who has played more than 60 games — or the equivalent in 72 games campaign in 2019-20 and 2020-21 — only twice in the past six seasons.”
Kyrie Irving is definitely a player that is worth a max contract. Though his availability can be an issue, ultimately, he is one of the most talented players in the league, and that is absolutely worth gambling on.
