Back in 2021, the Brooklyn Nets managed to create a Big 3 featuring Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden. Initially, the addition of Harden to the duo of Durant and Irving seemed like a dream come true.
Many expected the Nets to dominate the league for years to come. But in reality, the trio could never reach its full potential. The three superstars played just 16 games together and had a 13-3 record.
Although having a 13-3 record in just 16 games is incredible, it was certainly not enough to win an NBA Championship. As a result, just a couple of days ago, the Big 3 finally broke up.
It began with James Harden demanding a trade last season. And now, in the 2022-23 NBA season, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have done the same.
Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, And James Harden’s Time With The Nets Was Not An Era
Usually, when three players of KD, Kyrie, and Harden’s caliber join forces, they are expected to rule the league for several years. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with the trio.
Keeping that in mind, it would be foolish to say that when all three superstars finally moved on to the next chapter of their careers, “it was the end of an era.” No. They played less than 20 games, which is not even one-quarter of a regular season.

They played less than 20 games together. This wasn’t an era, it was an error.
The NBA fan perfectly defined the trio’s time together in Brooklyn. While the expectations from them were at an all-time high, they could never even come close to those.
It’s no surprise that the Big 3 of Durant, Kyrie, and Harden will forever be considered one of the biggest disappointments in the history of the league. There is simply no way anyone can deny that fact.
