When the Brooklyn Nets’ big three of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden were assembled, many thought that they would win at least one championship during their time together. However, that has not been the case and the big three has now been broken up, with James Harden being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.

There were times last season when the Brooklyn Nets offense looked flat-out dominant with all three of those stars playing. It’s still crazy to think about what that superteam could have potentially accomplished.

Perhaps their record together can provide an insight on how good the former Nets trio was. A Tweet by SportsCenter has recently revealed that Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving went 13-3 during their time together.

The Brooklyn Nets big three may have been dominant, but it’s time for the fans and the franchise to look forward to a new beginning. The Nets managed to acquire Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and Andre Drummond as part of a return package. It is quite possible that all three end up starting for the team, and getting three starters for one player isn’t bad. James Harden is better individually than all three of those players, there’s no question about that. However, those 3 players could provide impactful minutes for the Nets, and perhaps that’ll be enough for them to win the 2021-22 NBA championship.

It is definitely unfortunate that we didn’t see more of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant on the court together. They could have had potential as an all-time trio. With that being said, there are a lot of superteams that don’t end up working out, such as the 1998-99 Houston Rockets.

Hopefully, we see the Brooklyn Nets succeed even after this trade. They still have a very good team, and the talent on the roster suggests they are a contender. We’ll have to wait and see how well they do.
