Jayson Tatum has been improving his game season after season, proving everything that was said about him during his years prior to the NBA. The Boston Celtics figure had a rocky start to his career, but things have gotten better for him season after season.

A couple of weeks ago, he was Fadeaway World’s leading candidate for the 2023 NBA MVP award, and until yesterday, he was the same for the NBA’s official ranking. While leading the Celtics to have the best record in the league, he’s gone off, posting big numbers against big rivals and showing that he and his team are ready for revenge this campaign.

The Celtics were just two games away from winning the NBA championship, but the Golden State Warriors stopped them in the Finals, ruining their plans to become champions for the first time since 2008.

Jayson Tatum Is On His Way To Become A Complete Player

Tatum picked things right where he left them and is locked in to get back to the Finals and win the championship. Meanwhile, he’s showing that he can be a leader and take this squad to the promised land. Former player-turned-analyst Richard Jefferson compared JT to three of the best players in the league due to his revamped style of play and the way he involves teammates in the game.

“Jayson Tatum is right on schedule for where he needs to be. He’s developing, he’s getting better, he’s turning into more of a leader, and the way he was distributing the ball,” Jefferson said, via Sportskeeda.

“When you look at [Nikola] Jokic, when you look at Luka [Doncic], when you look at Bron, these guys, their ability to distribute the ball opens things up for them to play one-on-one.

“There is no answer to Jayson Tatum’s game if he can distribute at a six, seven assist type night. If he get you going, not shooting particularly well efficiently, but he can get his teammates involved and get double digit assists, that is where you see the maturation process for him. I think he’s right on time.”

This is huge praise for Tatum, who was once labeled a one-dimensional player or simply a scorer. He’s not doing so much more on the court and proving doubters wrong. Even though he and the Celtics keep making mistakes along the way, their fans hope that they learned their past lessons and can thrive in this campaign.

The C’s are ready to compete to get out of the East once again and put their hands on the Larry O’Brien trophy. The competition will be hard, but this team is good, and they can go all the way to the Finals again.
