Ja Morant has fast become a polarizing figure in the NBA because he speaks his mind without too much of a filter. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar has stayed at an amazing level after his jump last season, and he’s led his team to compete for the first seed in the Western Conference. And even though he’s only been in the league for just a few seasons, Morant has done enough to talk about the other players in the NBA.

One of the more underrated stories in the league is Bones Hyland. The Denver Nuggets youngster has blossomed into one of the most important figures on a roster contending to win the NBA championship. He is averaging over 13 points per game off the bench for the Nuggets, and the energy he brings on defense has been a huge help for the team. And it seems he is also Ja’s favorite player.

“@BizzyBones11 my fav player rn. Bro be too turnt & he da goodz.”

In the last 6 games, out of which the Nuggets have won 4, Hyland has been averaging over 16 points. He is on a tear, and he is getting noticed by the league. The future is very bright for Bones, which is lovely considering the hardships he has faced. And if he can get anywhere close to his own NBA idol, then Hyland will enjoy an incredible NBA career.

Bones Hyland Paid Tribute To ‘Legend’ Allen Iverson After A Big Scoring Performance

Bones Hyland had an excellent 24-point outing against the San Antonio Spurs earlier this season. And speaking to the media after his excellent outing in that game, Hyland paid tribute to Allen Iverson, who is one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

“Of course. Heck yeah,” Hyland said. “That crossover, the flashiness, the swag, everything. You look up to a guy like AI. … I watched AI when I was younger, though, and just watching him on the Sixers was just like, ‘Wow.’ He’s a legend.”

Hyland is just 22, and if the flashes he has shown are to be taken into account, the sky is the limit for the Nuggets youngster. He is on a team that promises to be good for many more seasons to come, and if he can take another step in the coming seasons, then it won’t just be Ja Morant who will be singing his praises.
