Being one of the best players in the NBA for almost two decades is nothing short of phenomenal. Not many players can do that, but the late Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, did that throughout his career in the league.

The Mamba spent his entire career with the Purple and Gold. Coming straight out of high school into the league, he took some time to get adjusted to the league. But once he did that, he never looked back and cemented an amazing legacy. In his illustrious career, Bryant helped the Los Angeles Lakers win 5 NBA Championships.

Bryant is undoubtedly a member of the all-time GOAT pyramid of the Los Angeles Lakers. But despite his superb resume, when it comes to the GOAT debate, he tends to be overlooked.

Kevin Durant Makes A Huge Claim About Kobe Bryant

Usually, when people debate about who is the GOAT, they focus on Michael Jordan and LeBron James. But the Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is a lifelong Kobe fan and respects the Mamba a lot.

So when he was playing word association with Jamal Crawford during an interview, KD gave a two-word response to what’s the first thing that comes to his mind when he thinks of Kobe Bryant.

“Top-2”

With this short response, Durant revealed that he thinks Kobe Bryant is the second-greatest player of all time. After all, later in the clip, he also shared the fact that he believes Michael Jordan is the GOAT.

When he was asked about James, Durant didn’t snub the King completely. Instead, he said that LeBron is the most accomplished player of all time, and when he breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record, it will be a huge day.

Anyway, the biggest takeaway from the video was Durant’s stance on Kobe being the second-best player in the history of the league. This is definitely a rare answer when talking about Kobe’s place in the all-time debates.
