Brad Stevens Says He’s Been In Contact With Jaylen Brown About Kevin Durant Trade Rumors: “We’ve Been Very Open From The Get-Go As All Of This Has Been Going On For Any Of Our Guys.”

The Kevin Durant trade saga is over, and a lot of players can breathe a sigh of relief. The superstar’s trade request has made a lot of players’ futures uncertain due to the possibility of them getting traded in a package for him.

One of those players is Jaylen Brown. A package from the Boston Celtics with Brown as the centerpiece was at one point viewed as the “unofficial frontrunner” to get a deal done.

Recently, Brad Stevens revealed that he has been in contact with Jaylen Brown regarding those trade rumors. He claimed that the team has “been very open from the get-go”, and added that he “sat down with Jaylen last week in LA”. Brian Robb of Mass Live relayed the news.

“Of course,” Stevens said of whether he’s been in contact with Brown. “Jaylen’s been through this from the standpoint of listening and the noise has been around him for a long time, big names over the years. I think one of the things you have to be able to do is ignore the noise and know what’s important. Also, be able to reach out and have candid and transparent communications with the people involved. We’ve had those and been very open from the get-go, as all of this has been going on for any of our guys. I sat down with Jaylen last week in LA. He looked great and he will be back to Boston soon.”

There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics have a good foundation already, and don’t necessarily need to trade for a superstar to win a championship. They notably added Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, and they will only get better as a team with him joining the squad.

The goal for the Boston Celtics will be to get back to the NBA Finals and win a championship next season, and we’ll see if they are able to do so. They definitely have the talent and the chemistry to do so, and Jaylen Brown’s performances will be a huge part of that.
