Michael Jordan is the best shooting guard ever, and there’s no doubt that many people view him as the GOAT of basketball. That’s the popular opinion, even though some people believe players like LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have good cases for that honor.

Damian Lillard has recently explained why he believes that Michael Jordan is the GOAT, claiming that there has “never been nobody like him”, and adding that it’s “not too much of a debate” when it comes to who the GOAT is.

Dame Lillard has spoken: Michael Jordan is the GOAT 🐐https://t.co/aympCvxnCI

“My NBA GOAT is Michael Jordan. It’s just different when you talk about MJ. On the floor, it’s just never been nobody like him. Nobody electrified the crowd like him. The Air Jordan shoe, rocking the cradle, walking in the air, you know, it’s Jordan. … I don’t think it’s too much of a debate as far as who’s the GOAT, and I would say it’s Jordan.

Bron, that’s definitely a conversation to be had, but I think most people will look at Jordan as the GOAT.”

There are definitely some people who claim that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan, and not everyone will agree with Damian Lillard’s opinion. For example, Isiah Thomas once claimed that James is the most “complete” player he’s ever seen.

The best and most “complete” player I have seen in my lifetime is

on and off the floor. He passed the eye test and the numbers confirm what my eyes have seen in every statistical category. #Goat let it be known!

While there have been a lot of great players in the past, Michael Jordan absolutely stands out, even among the greatest players in history. Michael Jordan dazzled crowds in the 90s, and there’s a reason he’s viewed as a legend among legends.

It remains to be seen if there will be a player who can surpass Michael Jordan in the future. It is definitely hard to see someone three-peating twice and going undefeated in the Finals, but nothing is impossible.
