Kyrie Irving has been heavily linked to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. After Kyrie’s short stint with the Brooklyn Nets, the former NBA champion is expected to leave the team.
Earlier, most reports suggested that there were several teams interested in the talented point guard. But according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, any other team that might trade for Irving will only be a getting a rental player. The reason for it is the fact that the word to the league has been that Kai wants to be a Lakers for this season and for future seasons as well.
If that is the case, then any other franchise trading for Irving will be making a huge mistake and wasting their assets. Although the Lakers have been in contact with the Nets for acquiring Kyrie, things have slowed down in the last few days. So fans started to wonder whether Kyrie wants to be a Lakers player or not.

Well, Irving answered those fans in an excellent way. He was spotted at a recent LA Sparks game, and Lakers fans have been going wild ever since.

Although this could simply mean that Kyrie was at the game to enjoy watching basketball, Lakers fans have gotten excited with this news. They believe that Irving’s trade to the Lakers is closer than ever, and the 30-year-old will soon wear the iconic Purple and Gold jersey.
