The 2022 NBA Finals are now underway. The Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics lock horns in hopes of lifting the glorious Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of this best-of-seven series.

Although the Warriors have a lot of experience on their side, this Celtics squad is not the one who would give up without a fight. In Game 1 of the series, it was proved as the Celts dominated the Dubs and registered a 12-point victory.

Now, there were many reasons for the Warriors’ defeat, but the biggest one was poor defense from the Steve Kerr-coached team. In fact, during one instance of the game, Jordan Poole played such a poor defense against Jaylen Brown that it left Stephen Curry frustrated.

Of course, Brown deserves credit for his amazing move as he passed through Poole with ease and scored easy points for his team. But in the NBA Finals, when the stakes are as high as they get, Poole should put more effort into defending one of the opponents’ best players.

This is something that coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors need to improve on in the remaining games of the series. Otherwise, the Celtics will easily win the series against the Dubs.

They proved that in the first game of the series. Despite their best player Jayson Tatum not being at 100%, other players picked up his slack. Moreover, this was an away game for the Celtics. Once they reach their home games, it will be a tad bit easier for them to defeat the Warriors.

When the Warriors were declared the underdogs in the series, many fans were left astonished. But looking at their performance in the opening game, maybe the experts were right after all? Well, we will find out in the next few games.
