LeBron James Mocks Notorious Bronny James’ Hater For Disastrous NCAA Coaching Season

LeBron James destroyed Doug Gottlieb on social media amidst Gottlieb's historically bad coaching campaign with the Green Bay Phoenix.

LeBron James watches as many sports as possible, and the All-Star break gives him a great chance to catch up on anything he has missed. The NCAA season is in its final weeks before the start of the Tournament, so James checks out what’s happening in the NCAA.

The Green Bay Phoenix, a D1 team in the Horizon League, is coached by analyst Doug Gottlieb in his first season in charge. It seems like it’ll also be his last, as the Phoenix have a 3-24 record this season, losing 15 in a row before a recent win. James relished in Doug’s failures on social media.

“Earned 2 Not Given! Gotta give him credit though!”

LeBron also spammed laughing and excrement emojis, so he’s glad to see Gottlieb fail as badly as he has. This is likely due to Gottlieb using his analyst role to tear into LeBron and his son Bronny James over this season.

Gottlieb compared Bronny to a Make-A-Wish kid after he made his Los Angeles Lakers debut, which didn’t sit well with many given Bronny’s cardiac arrest in 2023.

“There’s just no world in which this is about winning, or about basketball, or in any way normal or acceptable for a team that wants to win a championship in the second quarter. They treated Bronny like he’s a Make-A-Wish kid.”

Gottlieb also had the audacity to say that Bronny wouldn’t be a starter on his Horizon League squad which has no NBA prospects and is one of the worst teams in Division 1 this season.

“He would compete to start, but while I like how he moves the ball and defends, he wouldn’t be my point, and my wings are bigger and without seeing him w/us, I think it would be hard for him to start.”

Gottlieb’s most egregious mistake was calling LeBron a bad father for raising his son to become an NBA player.

“This toxicity is based upon one guy. And LeBron is a good father, is a good parent, but he’s a bad basketball parent because he’s making people elevate his kid to a level that his skill is not close to being at.”

These instances justify why LeBron is publicly letting his joy show at Gottlieb’s downfall. When you look at what the Green Bay Phoenix is doing, it’ll make a lot more sense.

The 3-24 college outfit are 1-15 in their Conference and ended a 20-game losing streak over the weekend. Gottlieb has been a horrific coach, actively endangering any professional basketball prospects his students could have had. This includes his trash-talking a D2 squad and still losing to them as well.

His team is ranked 356 out of 364 in the well-regarded KenPom rankings, giving them the title of one of the worst D1 teams this season with objective reasoning.

Gottlieb’s tenure as a Division 1 head coach should be small. It’s bold he tried to get back into this world after years as a media personality, but now he needs to come back to what he knows instead of making a fool of himself in the NCAA.
