Klay Thompson Calls Out The Sacramento Kings For Passing Him Up In The 2011 NBA Draft: “With The 10th Pick, The Sacramento Kings Don’t Select Me.”

It could be argued that Klay Thompson is one of the unlikeliest superstars in NBA history. Thompson entered the NBA in the 2011 NBA Draft as a shooting guard with elite shooting and perimeter defense. But no one expected him to become the massive star in the NBA that he became.

Thompson has been a multiple-time All-Star and been one of the most offensively dangerous players in the NBA during his career. But more than anything else, he has proven many of the teams who passed on him in the draft completely wrong. But he does have it out for one team; the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings had the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. But they passed on Klay Thompson and selected Jimmer Fredette instead. This allowed the Warriors to draft Thompson instead. And last night, Thompson put on a great performance against the Kings and then sent them a message.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings last night, and Klay Thompson played a big role in that, scoring 23 points while going an incredible 7-9 from three-point land. After the game, he explained why he seems to turn up against the Kings.

“Hey man, 2011 NBA Draft. With the 10th pick, the Sacramento Kings don’t select me. People don’t forget, that’s all I got to say.”

Thomspon has had a history of turning up against the Sacramento Kings. In 2015, he broke the NBA record for most points in a single quarter, when he torched the Sacramento Kings and scored 37 points in a single quarter against them. But despite the snub, Klay will be elated over how his career has turned out.

Thomspon was selected 11th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2011 Draft. And Thompson went on to become a cornerstone for the franchise as they emerged as a dynasty in the NBA. He was a crucial part of the Golden State Warriors team that went to 5 consecutive NBA Finals and won 3 NBA championships together.
