The Eastern Conference is full of amazing teams and the Miami Heat is certainly one of them. But the biggest difference between the Heat and the other teams in the league is their ability to comb through hidden gems. One of their last founding is the undrafted rookie center Omer Yurtseven.

The big man has taken the opportunity handed to him by the franchise with open arms. He has impressed scouts and coaches throughout the league with his ability to pull down rebounds.

The 23-year-old center has earned a spot in the rotation of the Heat and it is quite important to find such players in the league this season. It not only helps the team’s starting players get some rest, but also comes in handy at times when the roster is shredded thin due to the health and safety protocols.

Anyway, coming back to the topic at hand, the Miami Heat faced off against the Philadelphia 76ers in their most recent fixture. Although the game ended with the 76ers winning with some comfort, Yurtseven impressed veteran NBA coach Doc Rivers with his performance.

So much so that Rivers even expressed his frustrations with the Heat’s ability to find such players time after time.

“I don’t know where they keep finding these guys from. It pisses me off.”

Major credit for finding such talent goes to head coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley. The two have trusted in the process of the franchise and after a wait of a few years, they have one of the best teams in the league.

Many believed that the Heat will remain out of title contention for an even longer time. After all, they had the tough task of moving on from the Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

Fast forward to this season, with the likes of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro Duncan Robinson, and the most recent rising player in Omer Yurtseven, the Heat look scary. They are currently third in the Eastern Conference with a record of 27-16.

As of now, the 2020 NBA Finalists are just 1.0 game behind the league leaders. Can they close out this gap before the regular season is finished? Well, only time will tell.
