LeBron James and Stephen Curry are both players who dominated basketball from 2011 to 2020. One of the two was featured in every Finals matchup during those years, and the two also faced off against one another in the Finals multiple times.

While LeBron James is viewed as a better player by a lot of people, there seems to be some debate on who will has/will have the better legacy. Stephen A. Smith has even stated that Stephen Curry is more like Michael Jordan than LeBron James, something that was definitely a controversial statement.

The Ringer’s Bill Simmons and Seerat Sohi have recently discussed which of the two players currently has the better legacy. Bill Simmons claimed that he believes LeBron James is the better player, but that Stephen Curry could get the edge on LeBron James if he gets more accolades, as he changed the way that the game is played. If you’re just talking about the big picture stuff with them. The fact that Curry really did change the way that basketball was played is gonna matter if he can start adding some Finals and maybe a couple more rings. I think LeBron is a better player than Curry.

But if you’re just talking about career and when we start adding things up. Curry’s impact on basketball and being at the forerfront, just changing how it’s played… and how young people play it. It’s the one thing LeBron doesn’t have.

LeBron was the best player in the league for basically a decade and a half, and had one of the greatest careers ever. But you wouldn’t say he changed the way that basketball is played… on the court he was perfecting things that were already there. Curry actually changed the game.

Both players still have some good years left in their careers. Stephen Curry definitely has a chance to equal LeBron James in championships and accolades in the future, but we’ll see if that actually ends up happening.

Regardless of who finishes with more accolades though, the debate about whether LeBron James or Stephen Curry will end with the bigger legacy will rage on long after they retire. Both are all-time greats, and there’s no question that they will both be Hall of Famers in the future.
