Even though he has not yet suited up for the Brooklyn Nets this season, Kyrie Irving is still one of the best point guards in the game. He has the best handle in the league and is a top-tier creator in isolation situations. During the 2020-21 season, Kyrie Irving averaged 26.9 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 6.0 APG.

Patty Mills has recently commented on Kyrie Irving and claimed that he’ll add “good pace and movement and ball movement” to the Brooklyn Nets. Patty Mills admitted that there are times where the Nets get “stagnant” and added that Kyrie Irving will be “perfect” for those situations.

Patty Mills on Kyrie Irving, aiming for his season debut at the #Pacers: “Everyone knows who he is and what he does; but I think he'll be able to bring that good pace and movement and ball movement to the group. At times we get stagnant and he'll be perfect for that.” #nets #nba

Having Kyrie Irving on the court means a lot of things will end up smoothing out on the offensive end, and more ball movement wouldn’t hurt. While the Brooklyn Nets were obviously still a good team without Irving this season, he definitely gives them a different look on the offensive end. The Brooklyn Nets have looked extremely dominant in the past when fielding all three of their stars.

There have been many who have criticized the Brooklyn Nets for allowing Kyrie Irving to come back as a part-time player, such as Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal. However, amidst the whole league missing players due to health and safety protocols, having an extra player, especially a talented one such as Irving won’t hurt. Hopefully, we see the Brooklyn Nets incorporate Kyrie Irving into the rotation quickly, and there’s no question that many will be excited to see him play.
