Warriors Assistant Coach Reveals Stephen Curry’s Kryptonite

Over the last few days, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has been riding the high of breaking the all-time NBA 3-pointers record. Apart from that, the Dubs are having a phenomenal season so far. They are only second to the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference standings with a record of 25-6 right now.

Of course, the credit to this success goes to Steph and his immense ability to perform at an elite level. Now, everyone is aware of Curry’s strong points such as his scoring or shooting ability. But what is Steph’s weakness? His Kryptonite per se? Well, Warriors assistant coach Bruce Fraser revealed the answer to the million-dollar question in a conversation with NBC Sports’ Keith Burke.

Via NBC Sports:

“Steph’s kryptonite is a lack of rest.”

The reason for this conversation was probably due to the Warriors going through a few injury troubles. In their most recent fixture against the Toronto Raptors, the likes of Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Andrew Wiggins, and Stephen Curry were out of action.

Steph was the only one who got a rest night, while the other players weren’t healthy enough to take part in the competition. The decision to rest Steph aligns with what coach Fraser revealed.

Even so, it is hard to see Curry being too tired. In the 2021-22 NBA season, he is averaging 34.4 minutes per game. This earns Curry the rank of 27th most minutes per game in the league.

One reason the Warriors’ staff are extra careful around not letting their superstar get gassed out early in the season could be to preserve his best for the NBA postseason.

Moreover, with the Warriors, like many other teams, getting short-handed due to NBA health and safety protocols, Steph might see an increase in his workload over the next few games.

Whatever be the case, let’s hope that Curry is well-rested and continues to give his best in each game of the season. After all, it has been a few years since fans have seen Stephen Curry play in the NBA Finals and this season he looks ready to win the fourth ring of his career.
