Andrew Wiggins finally made his first appearance at a Golden State Warriors home game in nearly two months on Tuesday night.

Wiggins, who had been away from the team due to his father’s poor health, was greeted with a standing ovation by the fans in the arena.

He had a big smile on his face and it would have felt so great to receive all that love from the crowd on his return. Wiggins had been going through a very difficult time, as his father had been dealing with a serious medical issue. Earlier, he had spoken for the first time since taking time off and stated that while the situation isn’t fully settled yet, it is in a safe place, which enabled him to come back.

The Warriors gave him a nice present on his return too, as they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 136-125 to improve to 42-38 on the season. Stephen Curry put on a show with 34 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds while Jordan Poole had 30 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds.

Andrew Wiggins’ Status For The Warriors’ Remaining Two Games

This was a big win for the Warriors as they rose to fifth in the standings. They are involved in a tight three-way battle for the fifth and sixth seeds with the Clippers and Lakers at the moment, with all three teams hoping to avoid the play-in tournament.

The Warriors will, at the very least, finish sixth if they win out, and having Wiggins around for those two remaining games would certainly help. He was their second-best player during the run to the title last season and was averaging 17.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 2.3 APG, and 1..2 SPG in the 2022-23 campaign,

Warriors insider Anthony Slater, however, wouldn’t be surprised if Wiggins doesn’t play at all this week, as the team will opt for a cautious approach. Wiggins, however, stated during his press conference that he doesn’t expect it to be too long before he’s out on the court. A return in their game against the Kings on Friday seems unlikely, but perhaps he could be back against the Trail Blazers on Sunday.
