Anthony Davis struggled mightily in Game 2 when it came to the offensive end of the ball, scoring just 13 points on 28.6% shooting in the Lakers’ loss.

The Lakers are already looking ahead to Game 3, especially AD. He candidly revealed that he will be ready to compete as the series heads back to LA after their Game 2 loss.

“Looking forward to it, wish we could play tomorrow… I’ll be ready for Game 3 for sure.”

If AD is actually motivated to have a greater impact in Game 3, the Grizzlies should be worried about how they’ll stop him again. They forced him into playing passive basketball with really challenging coverages, but a player of AD’s IQ is likely going to figure out some more openings to exploit in the next game.

Anthony Davis is averaging 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks through the first two games of the series. Another rough game from AD could be a massive problem for LA, as they risk falling down 2-1 and allow Memphis to take home-court advantage in the series again.

What Needs To Change For The Lakers In Game 3?

The Lakers need to play with a lot more aggression next game. They came out in Game 2 looking flat-footed and unable to make a massive impact on the contest in the early goings. The Purple and Gold franchise was far better in the second half and will look to use that intensity as their lowest bar in Game 3.

The Grizzlies will hope players like Xavier Tillman and John Konchar can continue performing at the level they did tonight to take this crucial win from LA. Ja Morant could return as well, as the player’s x-rays were clean, and he rested in Game 2 as a precautionary measure.
