NBA Rumors: Damian Lillard Would Go To Knicks Or Lakers If He Were To Ask For A Trade From The Trail Blazers

2 Min Read

Averaging 28.9 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game on 45.7% shooting, Damian Lillard is one of the best point guards in the NBA. Unfortunately, Dame and the Blazers have been unable to secure an NBA Championship in the seven years since his arrival to the franchise in 2012.

This fact has led some to believe he could be ready to move on from the team and, in a recent report by Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Knicks and the Lakers are at the front of the line if he does decide he wants out.

The Lakers make a lot of sense as a location for Dame. Though it’s tough to see a scenario in which they’re able to trade for him, they are a team that is very attractive to free-agents, thanks to the big market of L.A. and the arrival of LeBron James.

The Knicks wouldn’t make as much sense for Lillard, though, especially if his goal is to win.

It’s also worth noting that Lillard has not expressed anything to hint that he would want out of the franchise — and the Blazers haven’t exactly shown any interest in trading him, either.

Still, you never know with these things and the situation could change in a few years. No doubt, a move to New York or L.A. would send shockwaves throughout the community.
