Doc Rivers On Marcus Smart’s Comments On Joel Embiid Flopping: “I Think Marcus Is An Expert At That… Great Actors Know Great Actors, They Always Have.”

2 Min Read

The situation between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics keeps getting better for the rest of the NBA, as they keep exchanging jobs whenever they have the chance. Joel Embiid and Marcus Smart have starred in more than one altercation in recent times and this week we saw another chapter of their rivalry.

After the Sixers’ 117-109 win over the Celtics on Wednesday, Smart called Embiid a flopper and the Sixers big man wasn’t having any of that. He replied to Smart, pointing out the irony in those remarks.

“Marcus Smart just told me that I flail a lot? Come on. I’m sure he knows himself and he knows his game. You know he does a lot of that,” the Sixers big man shared.

Embiid wasn’t the one talking about Smart and his head coach also chimed in on that situation, sending a short but big message to Smart, known for being a flopper, too.

“I think Marcus is an expert at that … Great actors know great actors, they always have.”

This only adds fuel to this growing rivalry. These teams have always gone at it but this is a new chapter; knowing that they are expected to compete in the East, it only makes things better for everybody. Now even Rivers had something to say about Smart and this won’t probably be the last time we hear about this situation.
