Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton thanked his mother after inking a massive five-year, $260 million contract extension with the team.

The 23-year-old was a picture of emotions as he spoke to the media with tears in his eyes when he spoke about how his mother was a pivotal figure in his journey as an NBA player.

“There’s so many people here for me to thank, but I’d be wrong to not start with my mom,” Haliburton said. “A lot of people don’t know this. My mom missed my first-ever game in my freshman year of college because the plane didn’t take off to get to Lubbock to go to watch Texas Tech. Before my freshman year, my mom never missed a game of mine.“

“My mom has been my everything for me to get here. I can’t even put into words to explain everything, but I’m just really appreciative of you, Mom, because of all the stuff of us growing up, and you pushing me to be where I am today… I love you and I’m really appreciative of you. So, thank you, mom.”

This surely comes as a wholesome moment from Haliburton, who shows he’s grounded as a person primarily due to his mother.

And honestly, he deserves the mammoth deal considering his contributions to the team last season. He led the Pacers in scoring averaging 20.7 points per game, while also tallying 3.7 rebounds,  10.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Now, he will look to make his mum more proud by balling out for Indiana this upcoming season.

Tyrese Haliburton Had The Perfect Reaction After Signing His Max Extension With The Pacers

Tyrese Haliburton’s quirky sense of humor was on full display soon after he inked his deal with the Pacers.

Taking to Twitter, Haliburton posted a clip of WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Millon Dollar Man’ Ted Diabase and his signature evil laugh at his opponents, and considering the fact that guard is now a millionaire himself, the celebration is just perfect.

All that’s left is to see if the Pacers can punch their weight this season and see if they can make the playoffs with Haliburton leading the way. They do have the ability to.
