Ja Morant is truly one of the most talented players in the league. Despite playing just three seasons in the NBA as of now, he is already in the conversation of the best guards in the league.

But with great talent comes great responsibilities, and Morant doesn’t seem to understand that with his off-court behavior. He has been on a rampage of making huge claims about his abilities.

For starters, he claimed that he could cook Michael Jordan in a 1 on 1 battle. Of course, he was destroyed by fans for these claims. A parody NBA Twitter account known as “Ballsack Sports” took advantage of this situation.

The account is known for making fake quotes that might seem real to NBA fans. However, if an NBA fan falls for it, it’s not that big of an issue. It’s a huge issue when a huge media company such as ESPN falls for it.

ESPN recently aired a segment on Ja Morant where he allegedly gave another quote about Michael Jordan and claimed it was said on Taylor Rooks’ show on Bleacher Report. Of course, that was untrue, and ESPN was absolutely destroyed by NBA fans.

Following this uproar by fans, ESPN was forced to issue an official apology for this huge blunder made by them.

“We made a mistake. We attributed a quote to Ja Morant’s appearances on Taylor Rooks’ show on Bleacher Report that he simply did not say. On behalf of the network, the show’s staff, and myself, I’d like to apologize to Ja and Taylor for our error. We will work hard to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

In a way, it is hilarious to think that a company like ESPN fell for such a fake quote. And this is not the first time that this has happened.

But let’s hope it was the last time this happened. Otherwise, people will start losing their trust in one of the biggest media houses out there featuring many big-name NBA analysts.
