Ja Morant has been getting a flurry of advice from all corners amid his second gun incident, and one of them was former Memphis Grizzlies legend, Tony Allen.

Speaking on Kevin Garnett’s KG Certified, “I’ll definitely tell him the guns are not one of those things you play with,” Allen said on the show. “I just think if he got that fear of holding a gun, he should be in much need of security.”

“More so than anything, you gotta be properly planning your movements,” Allen added. “When you out and about, and you definitely think you need a gun or you need places to go that you need a gun, you might not need to be going to those places. I say that from experience … I’ve been through some of everything that he’s trying to portray. It can get rough.”

Allen is one of the few players in the league who had his share of trouble during his playing days, and even isolated cases after hanging up his sneakers. In 2021, Allen was one of the players who was arrested on fraud charges.

Ja has found himself in soup after flashing his gun on Instagram Live for the second time — a move that saw the Grizzlies suspend him immediately. In the 2022-23 playoffs, Ja averaged 24.6 PPG, 6.8 RPG, and 7.0 APG for the Grizzlies and is surely a vital cog in their championship hopes

His latest piece of trouble has speculations that he could be suspended for a lengthy period in the upcoming season, and that comes as a major blow to Memphis.

Ja Morant Could Lose His Nike Deal

When Ja Morant put out an apology when he courted controversy for the first time, he found support from sports giant Nike, but his second instance saw the latter no longer feature his signature shoes on their site and the official app.

And that comes as bad news for Ja, who has been one of the rapidly rising NBA stars and is looked at as the future of the league. As it stands, he has already missed out on $39 million after being snubbed from the All-NBA teams

There’s no official communication that Nike might terminate their deal with Ja, but that doesn’t mean it may not happen, given his latest furor.
