The New York Knicks were beaten handily by the Miami Heat in Game 3, falling behind in the series in the process. The Knicks never really got going in the game, getting outscored in every quarter.

Their stars, Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson, and RJ Barrett, all shot 35% or below from the field, abysmal numbers for the Knicks. As a team, they shot an embarrassing 34% from the field and 20% from three-point range. While analyzing the game, though, Jalen Rose gave a wild reason for why the Knicks were so poor.

“But also as a road, when you’re the road team, you gotta pay attention to that weather and that heat,” Rose said. “Because it causes your muscles to have a little… It affects the endurance of your muscles and causes tiredness. So if you noticed the Knicks in particular are making shots inside the paint but they’re missing shots outside the paint.”

As the fan who shared this video of Rose pointed out, basketball is played in an indoor arena that is air-conditioned. Of course, the climate can affect teams that aren’t used to it, but that is hardly the reason the Knicks were as bad as they were against the Heat. The team simply needs to focus on playing better and making their shots if they want to get past Miami.

The New York Knicks Have To Find A Way To Win Game 4

The Miami Heat have been to the NBA Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals in the last three seasons, so they know what it takes to make it through the playoffs. Despite dealing with a big injury to one of their best scorers in Tyler Herro, they are a tough customer for an inexperienced squad like the Knicks to beat. Tempers have already flared in Game 3, but the Knicks need to keep in mind what is important.

Game 4 in Miami has become a must-win situation for the Knicks if they want to keep this playoff run going. This will be easier said than done, but it is imperative that they not fall to a 3-1 deficit. Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle will both have to play better to ensure that happens, and they have to continue trying to slow down Jimmy Butler. If the problem is with the weather, they need to get acclimatized quickly.
