It was less than a week ago when the Boston Celtics seemed dead and buried after losing Game 3 to fall down 3-0 against the Miami Heat.

Fast forward to Saturday night and they have now leveled up the series at 3-3 after a nail-biting 104-103 win in Game 6. The Celtics deserve a lot of credit for the way they have bounced back but Jaylen Brown knows it all counts for nothing if they don’t finish the job.

“It means nothing if we come and lay an egg on our home floor,” Brown said. “Still focused but excited that we came here and did what we said we was going to do.”

(starts at 0:34 mark):

Brown had confidently said before this game that the Celtics are the better team and he backed up all that talk with a good showing, finishing with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He has struggled at times in this series but is slowly but surely playing up to his potential now.

Brown is also correct when he says this great comeback would count for nothing if they don’t win Game 7. The Celtics have saved face by getting the series to a Game 7 but the season will ultimately be categorized as a disappointment if they fail to get past a Heat team that they are clearly more talented than.

Will The Celtics Pull This Off?

It is hard to not look at the Celtics as the clear favorites in Game 7 at this point. The Heat are a very resilient team but even they would be quite shaken up by the manner in which they lost Game 6. They were seconds away from getting to the NBA Finals to take on the Denver Nuggets and now have to head to Boston for a do-or-die contest.

Picking themselves up and putting on a good performance on Monday isn’t going to be easy by any means. The Celtics, on the other hand, will be brimming with confidence and while the pressure is now on them, you would still back them to finish the job in Game 7.
