The Miami Heat got a big win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, taking the No. 1 seed out of the 2023 NBA Playoffs and advancing to the second round of this intense postseason.

Everybody has had something to say about it, including Jayson Tatum, who boldly claimed that the Heat beating the Bucks isn’t an upset (0:30 mark).

“Just high-level basketball, great individual performances, some great team performances… There’s two really good teams with some really good players and great coaches, so it’s just some good basketball to watch both sides.”

“I wouldn’t necessarily call it an upset. Miami is a really good team, they have a great coach and obviously got some great players. I guess people didn’t expect them to win, but I wouldn’t call that an upset.”

The Boston Celtics superstar knows that the Heat are a menace when they’re locked in. Last season, nobody expected them to go as far as they went in the playoffs and ended up losing the Eastern Conference Finals to the Celtics in seven games.

This year, the odds were against them once again and pulled off an upset against the Bucks, who dominated the conference all season long.

Miami Heat Absolutely Dominated Milwaukee Bucks In This Series

Led by Jimmy Butler, Miami won the series in five games, neutralizing Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. Erik Spoelstra outcoached Mike Budenholzer, easily taking this series, and sending the 2021 NBA champions home.

The Heat became the sixth 8th seed to beat the 1st seed in NBA history, dominating the Bucks at home. They didn’t have an answer for the Heat and didn’t even take a shot in the last 10 seconds of their 2022-23 NBA season.

While the Bucks will have to make some adjustments before the start of next season, the Heat will try to beat the Knicks in the second round. If they get the job done and the Celtics do the same, we could see a rematch of last year’s ECF.
