Joel Embiid Becomes The First Player To Fall On The Floor 18+ Times In A Playoff Game, NBA Fan Made An Epic Joke About The Sixers Star

Joel Embiid is likely to win the MVP this season finally and his talent and skill are both not in doubt at all. However, there is one allegation against him that comes up regularly, which is that Embiid flops during games.

Earlier in the ongoing series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets, NBA fans called Joel Embiid out for an obvious flop. And following a Game 3 win against the Nets to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, Embiid was made fun of for this once again.

“Joel Embiid becomes the first player in NBA history to fall on the floor 18+ times in the first half of a playoff game,” Brett Usher wrote.

Joel Embiid has made it a habit to fall at the slightest contact in the hopes of drawing a foul, this isn’t exactly new territory for him. Even in Game 3, one of his more egregious offenses was shared on social media.

And for those that feel this is a one-off play, it’s not. Joel Embiid has a history of exaggerating contact to the point where there are complete compilations of him throwing himself to the floor. One of those went viral on social media earlier this month.

Joel Embiid attempted 11.5 free throws per game during the regular season this year, the second most in the league. He has regularly been at the top of those standings and while he does get hacked a lot, some of it is thanks to him flopping as well. There has been a lot of noise about how Embiid is refereed during this series as well.

The Lack Of Calls Against Joel Embiid Has Been A Big Topic Of Discussion

Following Game 1, Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Jacque Vaughn spoke about the lack of offensive fouls called against Joel Embiid. The Sixers star hit back at Vaughn and the team, accusing them of begging for foul calls after losing

In Game 3, there was a moment when Joel Embiid threw a kick at Nic Claxton, who was stepping over him. While Embiid was assessed a flagrant foul, he wasn’t ejected, which baffled some people. Charles Barkley went on to say that his actions were worse than what Draymond Green recently did.

There is a conversation to be had about Joel Embiid’s conduct on the court, but for now, he and the Sixers are coasting against the Brooklyn Nets. The way he plays will be scrutinized again as the playoffs go on, though, and all these clips and memes are not a good look for Embiid.
