Kawhi Leonard tends to keep a low profile during the NBA season and when the offseason comes around, you hear next to nothing about or from him.

We see stars partying all over the place with celebrities, but not Leonard. That is why, it was quite surprising when rapper Rick Ross shared a clip on Instagram of Kawhi partying with him at a club in Las Vegas.

Leonard didn’t seem too comfortable with the fact that he was being recorded there as put his head down rather quickly. We’re sure Kawhi does hang out with celebrities in the offseason but he doesn’t seem to be a fan of putting that kind of stuff out there.

The 2023-24 Season Is A Crucial One For Kawhi Leonard

When Kawhi joined the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 along with Paul George, the expectation was that they’d win titles. They have unfortunately never particularly gotten close to achieving that goal, with injuries being the biggest reason for it.

This season was more of the same, with George missing their first-round series against the Phoenix Suns. Kawhi played the first two games of that series but then suffered a torn meniscus and was out the rest of the way as the Clippers lost in five games.

Leonard was terrific in those two games, with averages of 34.5 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 6.0 APG, 2.0 SPG, and 0.5 BPG but the fact is if you keep getting injured, then those incredible numbers don’t matter at the end of the day.

The repeated injuries are why ESPN’s Zach Lowe isn’t sure Leonard or George would get four-year max extensions from the Clippers. They both have a player option for the 2024-25 campaign, but no one is going to shell out the big bucks with these injury concerns in mind.

If Kawhi can just stay healthy next season though, then the Clippers, or maybe some other team, would be willing to take that plunge and give him the long-term deal he’d desire.
