After a successful, albeit controversial stint with the Golden State Warriors, Jordan Poole is now the newest superstar for the Washington Wizards. The former NBA champion was traded to Washington as part of a deal to bring Chris Paul to the Warriors. Poole will be the central figure in Washington, serving as their new primary option. And he was welcomed by a very important figure in Washington D.C.

The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, took to Twitter to share a picture she took with new Wizards star Jordan Poole. She noted that while Warriors fans will miss him, she was happy to welcome Poole to the nation’s capital. It is interesting to note that Harris is from the Bay Area, so she would be a Warriors fan as well.

“#DubNation will miss you, Jordan, but welcome to Washington, D.C.”

For Poole to be recognized by one of the most important figures, not just in Washington, but in the whole world is a huge honor. Poole’s picture with the Vice President was from last year when he and the Golden State Warriors were invited to the White House to continue the tradition of NBA champions being honored by the President.

Can Jordan Poole Be A Star In Washington?

Jordan Poole’s departure from the Warriors has not been without controversy. Many have speculated that Poole’s relationship with Draymond Green led to him being traded away, something Poole himself recently seemed to confirm in an interview

However, one analyst believes that it was Poole’s deteriorating relationship with head coach Steve Kerr that led to his departure from Golden State. Regardless, Poole will be excited about the chance to be a more important player, now that he is in Washington.

Poole averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds last season, and with a more important role in his new team, his numbers are sure to go up next year.
