LeBron James is not known for being an outwardly aggressive player. While James is absolutely sensational and an all-time great, he hasn’t had to rely on aggression to make an impact. But when he does get aggravated on the court, it does not bode well for his opponents. Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors learned this the hard way.

During a regular season game in the 2007-08 season, LeBron James and the Cavaliers traveled to Toronto to play against Chris Bosh and the Raptors. James was having a tough game, struggling to score. Going into the fourth quarter, James was being heckled by two women, who turned out to be Chris Bosh’s cousin and his then-girlfriend.

James used the heckling as motivation, as he went on to dominate the fourth quarter. James would score 24 points in the quarter to take his total to 39 points.

James was even seen mouthing “it’s your fault” to Bosh’s then-girlfriend. The Cavaliers went on to win the game, and Bosh got a chance to see why aggravating LeBron James is not a good idea.

Bosh would get his chance to team up with LeBron James the following summer, as he would be a part of Team USA at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Bosh and James would be crucial players for Team USA, as the ‘Redeem Team’ would go on to win the gold medal at the Olympic Games. But things would occur there that would change the NBA forever.

Chris Bosh Would Team Up With LeBron James.

Just two years after their time together at the Olympics with Team USA, Chris Bosh and LeBron James would team up, joining forces with Dwyane Wade in Miami. The trio would go on to reach 4 consecutive NBA Finals, and win 2 NBA championships. They would become the first superteam of the player-empowerment era.

Recently, Brian Windhorst talked about how superteams in the modern era are formed at Team USA tournaments, calling it a ‘recruitment zone’. The ‘Big Three’ Heat were the first example of this happening and showed other players the benefit of teaming up together.

James and Bosh clearly enjoyed their time playing together, as they dominated the rest of the NBA in a way we hadn’t seen at the time. While LeBron would leave the Heat after just 4 years, Bosh would stay, and eventually retire with the franchise.
