Kawhi Leonard’s sister has received terrible news on her case for killing an elderly woman four years ago.
Kimesha Williams and Candace Townsell were charged after robbing and killing an 84-year-old woman. Four years went by, and Williams and Townsell heard the verdict, which will send them to prison for the rest of their lives.
“The two women convicted of killing an elderly woman in a Pechanga Resort Casino bathroom in 2019 have been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
“Candace Townsell and Kimesha Williams were convicted of robbing and killing 84-year-old Afaf Assad as she left the bathroom stall, knocking her to the floor, causing her to hit her head.
“She never regained consciousness.”
ABC7 reports that the two women had prior convictions, which played a role in this decision. This is something you never want to see somebody go through, let alone a member of your family, but justice is there for everyone, no matter who you are or what connections you have.
Kawhi Leonard Has Lost Important Family Members To Violence
Kawhi Leonard, unfortunately, has a history of violence. The Klaw lost his father in 2008 when he was killed in a shooting outside the carwash he owned in Compton. Leonard was heavily affected by that, and many think that changed something inside him at that moment.
Many years have gone by, and this remains a big loss for Leonard. Despite being a successful NBA player, Leonard has had to go through difficult moments in his life, starting from this painful loss.
He’s currently sidelined by the Los Angeles Clippers after picking up a knee injury. Leonard’s return is unclear, and the team is facing off against the Phoenix Suns without him and Paul George.
They need to stay alive as long as possible before having the chance to see Kawhi again on the court. Until then, they’ll rely on Russell Westbrook to lead them to the promised land.
