Doc Rivers recently made a big statement when talking about the approach the Philadelphia 76ers would have for Game 4 of their Brooklyn Nets series.
Trying to keep everybody on the same page and focused on this game, Rivers made a hilarious comment that made the rounds around the NBA.
“You’ve got to take care of your business. Don’t play with your meat,” the veteran head coach said.
Aside from all the flagrant stumping Rivers did on Friday afternoon (more to come shortly), he ended his avail by noting the Sixers should have the same urgency the Nets will down 3-0.

One day after making this statement, Rivers said that his players clarified the way he should have expressed himself, changing a little bit of the phrase to give a clearer message.
“My players clarified something. It’s playing with your food,” Rivers said before starting his press conference.

In case anybody isn’t following this, ‘playing with your meat’ is a way to say giving yourself pleasure, which is the reason why Rivers became a meme around the NBA.
Fortunately, his players made the clarification, and now Rivers knows the right way to say this message. The Sixers sent a big message themselves with a big Game 4 win against the Brooklyn Nets.
Led by Tobias Harris and James Harden, they sealed the deal with a 96-88 win over the Nets, who never found a response against the Sixers. Now they wait for the winner between the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks.
Doc Rivers On Joel Embiid’s Status Ahead Of Eastern Conference Semifinals
The biggest concern for the Sixers now is that Joel Embiid is inactive due to a sprained knee. The big man miss today’s game, and Rivers gave a worrisome update on his player’s health.
Doc Rivers said he is unsure of whether Joel Embiid will be ready for the start of the Eastern Conference semifinals, then said he felt it was “probably 50 percent, at best.”
The series will likely start next weekend.

Moreover, he said that Embiid could be at “probably 50 percent, at best” once their second-round series starts. This could be the end of the Sixers’ hopes for this season, as Embiid is their best player.
Harden and Harris could do the job, but they don’t make the same impact as Embiid. For the Sixers or their rivals.
