Chicago Bulls Won’t Bring Back Patrick Beverley

The Chicago Bulls have decided to move on from Patrick Beverley.

The Chicago Bulls are moving on from some pieces this offseason, as they try to build another contender team.

Following a disappointing end to the season, the six-time NBA champions have decided to keep some of their young players at the expense of Patrick Beverley, who joined the team after the trade deadline.

“That still leaves a huge hole at point guard, especially with Beverley likely elsewhere. No problem. White showed enough for the organization to believe in him taking the starting reins, but that comes at a price. White is a restricted free agent, and the Bulls will let the market set a price for him, likely matching it once it does,” Joe Crowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Coby White will be a restricted free agent this offseason, and Crowley believes he could command $14-$15 million per year in a new deal. This is sort of what Beverley wanted, but the Bulls won’t be the team that will grant his wish.

White averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 74 games for the Bulls, enough to convince the front office to give him the reins of the team, as Lonzo Ball keeps recovering from his knee injury.

As for Beverley, he would have to seek new chances in the league. He’s been traded three times in the past two seasons and it remains to be seen if he gets another chance in the league.

Chicago Bulls VP Says They’re Running It Back Next Season

Besides parting with Beverley, the Bulls also made a big decision. They won’t break up their roster and will run it back with their star duo next season. DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine were mentioned in trade rumors at some point this season, but the Bulls retained them.

It doesn’t seem like they’ll change their approach to this situation and the pair will continue trying to take the Bulls back to contention. They were close to making it to the playoffs this year, but Max Strus and the Miami Heat had different plans.
