The Denver Nuggets are just one win away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Nuggets could cap off an excellent season by reaching the NBA Finals with a chance to win it all. Despite how good the Nuggets have been, they have been underestimated by many, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope said that this underestimation is fueling their playoff run.

After the Nuggets won Game 3, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope spoke about their motivation during this playoff run. He noted that the media discrediting them compared to the Suns and the Lakers is something they’ve taken personally, saying, “We’re the underdogs. We don’t get enough credit for what we do. We’re No. 1 in the West for a reason. And not being talked about, we don’t get enough credit, and we take that personally.”

KCP has established himself as one of the key rotation pieces for the Nuggets, coming into the starting line-up due to his excellent three-point shooting and defense. Interestingly, Caldwell-Pope is one of the few players on the roster with NBA Finals experience, along with Reggie Jackson. And the team he won an NBA championship with is the same team he and the Nuggets are dominating – the Los Angeles Lakers. Pope’s experience being a teammate of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is sure to help the Nuggets during this playoff run.

No Time To Rest For Denver Nuggets

If the Nuggets want to reach the NBA Finals, now is not the time for them to lose focus. Despite being 3-0 up, the Lakers are still a dangerous team. And LeBron James has shown in the past that he can overcome unlikely, near-impossible odds.

LeBron James himself said that he and the Lakers are looking to bounce back, focusing on winning one game, and seeing what they can do from there. Granted, the Lakers are one game away from being knocked out, but they are still a massive threat to the Nuggets and their desire to go to the NBA Finals.
