Tyrese Haliburton has well and truly emerged as one of the brightest young stars in the NBA today. The 22-year-old has left everyone impressed with his play this season, as he leads the league in assists at 10.5 APG while also averaging 20.7 PPG. It had gotten to the point where Haliburton was seen as a lock to make the All-Star team this season, but New York Knicks analyst and former NBA player Wally Szczerbiak had a big problem with it.

He called Haliburton a wannabe All-Star in a bizarre rant that left many scratching their heads. Haliburton roasted Szczerbiak for his comments in return and then proceeded to score a career-high 43 points in their 111-108 win over the Miami Heat. He hit the game-winner with 2 seconds remaining, and Kevin Durant, who had clearly been paying attention to what was going on, hilariously trolled Szczerbiak.

The Knicks analyst clearly did see it and admitted that Haliburton is looking like an All-Star. He won’t be a starter, but it is safe to assume he will be among the reserves. Szczerbiak was really making those comments at the time to prop up Jalen Brunson, and Julius Randle as All-Stars, and considering the Knicks are off to a good start, one of them will probably make it in as well.

The Future Is Bright For The Pacers

Acquiring Haliburton via trade from the Sacramento Kings earlier this year was the best decision the Pacers have made in a while, but a close second was picking Bennedict Mathurin in this past NBA Draft. While Mathurin initially grabbed headlines for his comments regarding LeBron James, he has shown that he can actually be something special in the NBA.

He is in the running for both Rookie of the Year as well as Sixth Man of the Year, and the pairing of him and Haliburton promises a bright future for the Pacers. They could also part with Myles Turner and Buddy Hield to get more future assets as they look to build a special team in Indianapolis.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
