When Stephen Curry went down with a shoulder injury, you knew the Golden State Warriors would be in trouble, and that has proven to be the case. The Warriors have lost 3 out of the 4 games since then and got crushed by the Knicks and Nets in their last two outings.

Curry gave a bit of a worrying update on his injury during the game against the Knicks, stating that he is nowhere near picking up a basketball yet. He added that they’ll probably be setting a timeline for his return once 2023 arrives, and that is indeed the case.

Stephen Curry is making “good progress” on his left shoulder subluxation, Warriors say. He will be re-evaluated again in two weeks.

It is great to know that he is making good progress, but the fact that he will be re-evaluated after two weeks means a return is likely at some point in mid-January at the earliest. That isn’t ideal, considering how the team is struggling at the moment, but the Warriors are probably being extremely cautious here. They believe this team is capable of going on a run once Steph comes back, and we saw last season that they don’t particularly care a whole lot about being the top seed for the playoffs.

Draymond Green Spoke On The Warriors Potentially Being A Play-In Team

With Stephen Curry being out of action and the Warriors having a 15-18 record, there is a real possibility that they might end up in the play-in positions at the end of the season. Draymond Green was asked about the same and said he would feel sorry for the no. 1 and no. 2 seed if the Warriors are in a play-in situation.

Classic Draymond response right there, and he’s not wrong when he says that. Green did, however, acknowledge that the Warriors are very fragile right now and stated that their troubles on the road are a mental issue. Golden State has the worst road record in the league, but fortunately for them, their next road game is quite a while away on the 13th of January against the San Antonio Spurs.
